Air Park Resource Organization (APRO), its' members and the kindhearted citizens of Scottsdale and the Northeast Valley raised over 650 toys for the U.S. Marines Toys for Tots program.
APRO co-founders Mark Lynch and Karl Knelson spearheaded the annual toy drive locally, which the Marines have been doing since 1947. “We would like to thank all the warm hearts out there who donated so generously to the Toys for Tots Drive.” said Knelson.
“We were impressed by efforts of so many people who made this drive a success.” added Lynch The Scottsdale drive was conducted from Nov 30th to Dec 20th with the initial goal of 500 toys being raised. The drive was kicked off with a holiday celebration at Tuttu Benes at Kokopelli Bistro with about 25% of the toys being raised at the kickoff where admission was a toy donation.
Oversize boxes were generously donated by PostalMax of Scottsdale Towne Center, and placed in a variety of locations including (4) Chase Bank locations, Jilly's American Grill and the Authur Murray's Dance Studio in the Scottsdale air park.
“There are so many unsung heroes to thank who unselfishly devoted their time, resources and money. It just goes to show you how much our members of the community really do care.” said Lynch.
